Frequently Asked Questions

To use VoiceGPT, simply download and install the app from the Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app and grant the necessary permissions. Speak your prompt, and VoiceGPT will provide a response. You can also access additional features like InstaBubble, DALL-E 2 support, and sharing options through the app interface.

InstaBubble is a feature that allows you to quickly access VoiceGPT with a floating icon on your screen. When you tap the icon, a voice prompt is invoked, making it easier to interact with the AI without the need to open the app every time.

VoiceGPT includes experimental support for OpenAI's DALL-E 2, an AI that can generate images from text prompts. To use this feature, provide a relevant prompt for image generation, and VoiceGPT will display the AI-generated image based on the provided description. Keep in mind that DALL-E 2 support is experimental, and results may vary.

VoiceGPT can be invoked using a voice command called "Hotword." In version 1.51, the hotword is "Hey chat." Make sure this feature is enabled in the Home menu. Please note that the hotword detection might not be perfect and can sometimes fail, but improvements are continuously being made to enhance this feature.

If VoiceGPT is not reading text out loud in the desired language, please check the following: 1) Ensure that the Google App is installed and updated, 2) Make sure the Speech Services by Google app is installed and updated, and 3) Download the language pack for the desired language through the Google Translate app. Switching to Google speech services from Samsung speech services and downloading the language pack through Google Translate may help resolve the issue on Samsung devices.

The hotword detection may sometimes fail to work as expected. In the upcoming updates, premium users will be able to set their own hotwords to improve detection. "Hey Google" will also be added as a default activation option. If you experience issues with hotword detection, try disabling and re-enabling the feature. VoiceGPT is continuously working on optimizing voice support and improving hotword detection.

Currently, the "Web Query" feature may sometimes include irrelevant information from web pages. However, VoiceGPT is working on optimizing the feature by implementing better methods to strip non-useful content, provide more search results, limit search results to specific dates or pages, and add support for YouTube transcripts. In future updates, "smart" automatic WebSearch prompts will be introduced to provide up-to-date or web-based information when needed.

This issue might be related to the integration of ChatGPT plugins, which adds a top toolbar element for plugin selection. The VoiceGPT team is working on addressing this issue. In the meantime, try clicking the speaker icon next to the message to ensure it reads the correct message. Please note that the issue will be fixed as soon as possible.

Currently, VoiceGPT supports only the default voices from the Google Assistant package. The VoiceGPT team is working on adding more natural-sounding voices in future updates. They are exploring affordable solutions with fast response synthesis times to achieve a real-time experience. Please stay tuned for improvements in the voice quality.

Thank you for reporting the issue with the Copy feature. The VoiceGPT team is aware of the problem and working on fixing it. Formatting improvements will be implemented in future updates. Please stay tuned for updates to the Copy feature.

Yes, you can use VoiceGPT as your main assistant app. Starting from version 1.50, you can enable the "Hey, Chat" option in the Home settings menu or replace your default (Google) assistant. VoiceGPT can then be accessed by long pressing the Home or Sleep button. This feature provides a seamless experience using VoiceGPT as an assistant app.

If VoiceGPT stops responding, it could be due to temporary issues with the official ChatGPT servers. Before reinstalling the app, you can check the server status at https://status.openai.com/. If the servers are down, it is likely that VoiceGPT will start working again once the issue is resolved. If the problem persists even when the servers are operational, you can try reinstalling the app or contacting the VoiceGPT support team for further assistance.
